Help & Support

1

I’ve never had therapy before. Is that okay?

Of course. Usually the people I work with are trying therapy for the first time. You don’t need to know what to say or how therapy works. We simply start with whatever feels comfortable for you.

2

What happens during the first session?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We’ll talk about what’s brought you to therapy, what you’re hoping to achieve, and you can ask any questions you have. There is no pressure to share anything before you’re ready.

3

Is the first session really free?

Yes. I offer a free first session because I believe it’s important for you to see whether therapy feels right for you before making any commitment. There is no obligation to continue afterwards.

4

What kinds of issues can therapy help with?

People come to therapy for many different reasons, including anxiety, stress, low mood, confidence, relationship difficulties, work pressures, life changes, or simply because they want someone impartial to talk to. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from therapy.

5

Do I have to talk about my past?

Not unless you want to. Some people find it helpful to explore past experiences, while others prefer to focus on what’s happening in the present and how to move forward. We’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.

6

Is everything I say confidential?

Yes. What we discuss in therapy is confidential. The only exceptions are rare situations where there is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else, or where I am legally required to share information. If this ever became necessary, I would discuss it with you wherever possible.
